We feel incredibly privileged to have been selected as DAME Design Awards charity beneficiary of the year, and to be invited to Metstrade 2025!
Members of our passionate team pictured below, Robbie, Mark and Nicola, headed to Metstrade 2025. Through this opportunity, we have been able to connect with so many new faces in the marine leisure and maritime industry. Below, you will find all the information you need about our charity, our Blue Meadows programme, and our upcoming Falmouth restoration project.

Our Charity
We are Ocean optimists, taking action to protect and restore nature for a thriving Ocean. We deliver work under our three main programmes – Ocean Experiences, Ocean Advocacy and Ocean Habitats. We are working tirelessly to improve Ocean health by restoring our vital carbon-capturing habitats, raising the voice of the Ocean, and by connecting as many people as possible to the Ocean.
Our Ocean Habitats Work
Our Blue Meadows programme is a holistic approach to seagrass protection, regeneration and restoration at scale. Seagrass is one of the most valuable and biodiverse habitats on the planet and is one of the few habitats that provide multiple benefits to the environment and to local communities. We aim to protect 10% of the UK’s seagrass meadows, and build capacity to restore 50 hectares of seagrass annually in the UK.

Falmouth Seagrass Restoration Project
In 2026, we are excited to be launching a multi-year collaborative project to restore 10 hectares of seagrass (that’s around 14 football pitches in size) in the Fal and Helford Special Area of Conservation (SAC). It’s going to be the UK’s largest subtidal seagrass restoration effort to date!
In preparation, the coming months will see partners (Ocean Conservation Trust, Cornwall Council, the University of Exeter, Falmouth Harbour and Falmouth Marine Conservation Group) undertaking detailed site monitoring, seagrass seed collection and community outreach. The project also provides a valuable opportunity for scientific research, data collection and analysis to assess the restoration success and ecological impacts. This research will offer important insights into carbon sequestration, species abundance, and the expansion of seagrass meadows; contributing to broader seagrass knowledge, future restoration efforts, and helping to unlock sustainable financing for blue carbon habitat restoration.
We are now in the process of seeking funding for this impactful project, and have a target of raising £723,000! If you would like to support this project in any way, then please contact our fundraising team or make a donation to our work using the buttons below.
Mini Meadows Ocean Fund
Whilst we are actively exploring a stacked, high integrity credit for seagrass, we have developed a novel, interim model to help provide sustainable finance for our work. Our Mini Meadows Ocean Fund offers people a direct way to contribute towards the protection and restoration of our seagrass meadows in one powerful package. It is a scalable solution to support our vital work and is a simple, effective way to make a real difference.
One Mini Meadow is symbolic of 10 square metres of healthy, mature seagrass meadows. Both businesses and individuals can choose to support one or more Mini Meadows. The bigger your contribution, the bigger your impact for nature.
We are then able to tell you the approximate ecosystem services of the number of Mini Meadows you have supported, based on our own data and the science we know so far.
