Our OCT Learning Team loves welcoming home-educated children to the Aquarium, inspiring them to connect with the ocean. Whether you have budding marine biologists or a child curious about our amazing Blue Planet, our OCT Learning Programme has something for everyone!

Deep Dive Workshops

On the last Wednesday of each month, we host an ocean-themed workshop for children eager to explore our amazing Blue Planet. Aligned with the national curriculum, each session emphasizes ocean conservation.

Meet in Plymouth Sound at 12:45 pm for the1.5-hour workshop at 1pm, priced at £7.00 for participants and £5.50 for non-participating children.*

Home Education Wednesdays

Every Wednesday during term-time, Home Educated children between the ages of 4-16 may enter the Aquarium between the hours of 10am-2pm for £5.50 each!

The Aquarium closes at 5pm, so feel free to explore for as long as you like! You will have access to all our wonderful exhibits and are welcome to attend our daily feeds and talks throughout the day. *

Book a bespoke visit!

Home Educators regularly like to group together with other Home Educators to make a unique booking with us. Often, they opt for a self-led visit with a workshop of their choice, for £7.00 per learner. We advise that you bring at least 12 learners to make your visit worthwhile!

STEMFest 2024

After the success of last year’s evolution and conservation themed STEMFest, we are excited to announce that we will once again be inspired by the work of the Darwin200 project. This October, children ages 7-15 can step into the shoes of Charles Darwin and embark on a journey through the wonders of evolution and conservation.

When: October 10th
What’s Included: Interactive tour, hands-on workshop, and an assembly-style show
Cost: £8.00 per student (incl. VAT)

*Terms and conditions:

  • Home education sessions are run during term time.
  • Workshop fees includes entry to the NMA.
  • One free adult may visit per booking.
  • Under 3s may enter for free.
  • Any additional adults are welcome to purchase a standard ticket to the Aquarium.
