We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with ProBleu, an EU-funded project (open to UK schools). The project is giving schools grants of up to 10,000 euros to develop or support curriculum-linked learning.

ProBleu funding empowers schools to lead in educating kids about protecting our oceans and freshwater. Over three years, ProBleu will support a minimum of 100 schools with exciting projects, offering up to 10,000 euros for year-long initiatives. Lets work together for a greener, bluer future!

All projects on topics relating to the objectives of the MissionStarfish 2030 will be considered. For example microplastics, pollution, or aquatic ecosystems and their protection or regeneration.

The grant can be spent on activities like:

  • Citizen Science data collection & research based activities
  • School trips, workshops, conferences & events
  • Teaching unit development, practical exercises & equipment
  • Expert sub-contracting
  • Creative performances & exhibitions
  • Competitions
  • Collaboration meetings

So the world could be your teaching oyster!

You can apply for the next round of funding between 1st March until the 30th of April, for projects running from August 2024 to July 2025. This funding call will be the only one that runs across a full academic year, so it’s worth getting your skates on for.

We as the Ocean Conservation Trust, lead the way in Europe, by connecting academics with the public through our OCT Learning Programme. Developed with teachers, our program integrates ocean literacy into the curriculum and supports educators with resources and a community.

Check out our OCT learning program to see how we can enhance your project, and feel free to share any other session ideas you have in mind!

For more information please contact our Schools officer Jessica.Briggs@oceanconservationtrust.org and she will be happy to talk all things ProBleu.
