Join us at Mount Batten beach to discover more about the incredible creatures living in our rockpools!
Important Update
On the 10th July 2026 Mount Batten beach has been closed by Plymouth City Council following advice from the Director of Public Health and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) while further investigations are carried out, this is due to evidence of asbestos on the beach. We are closely monitoring updates regarding the temporary closure of Mount Batten Beach.
Our Rockpool Safari and Snorkel Safari experiences are currently still available to book while we await further information from Plymouth City Council.
If Mount Batten Beach is unavailable or deemed unsafe for our activities, we will take the appropriate action. This may include moving our Snorkel Safari to an alternative location within Plymouth Sound or, where this isn’t possible, cancelling the experience and providing a full refund.
The safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor the situation and contact anyone with an affected booking directly if any changes are required.
Thank you for your understanding.
Our Ocean Discovery Rangers are expert Rockpool Guides, ready to lead you on Rockpool Safaris along the rocky shore. Combining science and storytelling, they will help you uncover the secrets of our local wildlife.
