This summer, we’re excited to be launching our brand new Ocean Optimism campaign that everyone can take part in. Ocean Friendly Homes will help people take simple actions at home that can positively benefit the Ocean. You, along with thousands of others, can join our mission by picking up the Ocean Friendly Home Planner – available at our Centre of Ocean Excellence, the National Marine Aquarium or as a digital download below. It’s full of simple tips to help you make Ocean-friendly swaps in your home, no matter where you live.
What is an Ocean Friendly Home?
Join us in making mindful choices about everyday items in your homes, that can often save you money, reduce waste, and as well as helping towards the Ocean health. From using less water and energy to swapping out single-use plastics and choosing Ocean-safe products, it’s all about practical steps that add up.
Transforming your home into a more sustainable and Ocean-friendly space is easier than you might think. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about taking small swaps in the right direction.

The Ocean Friendly Home Planner
Join 1000’s of people who are protecting the Ocean this summer!
Our Ocean Friendly Home Planner is your guide to joining in and making positive swaps at home, that support the Ocean health. Start by thinking about what motivates you to protect our Ocean, and looking around your home and seeing some of the things you already do. Then take part in as many swaps as you want over the summer holidays. Encourage all the family to colour in the progress bars and tick off in each room as you make an Ocean Friendly swap.

For those wanting a less colourful planner, that is easier on your printer ink or your eyes, download our black and white keyline version that can also be coloured in for an additional activity.

If all of our visitors over the summer holidays each made one Ocean Friendly swap this could equate to around 86,000 swaps towards a healthier Ocean. Together, these small swaps can make a BIG IMPACT to our Ocean health.
