Beaches in the UK are expected to face 50% more visitors this ‘Staycation Summer’ as Brits look to swap overseas trips for holidays a little closer to home.

More people = more impact on the environment, so we’re using our voice to encourage people to have fun, but to make sure they think about their trips to the beach and the positive impact they can have.

We’ve teamed up with the inspirational Ben Fogle and our South West neighbours Plymouth Gin to encourage Brits to think about their impact when heading to the coast.

According to our latest research ahead of this campaign 3 in 4 Brits say the beach makes they happy (We agree of course!). But, the biggest annoyance for 68% of people at the seaside is the litter found on the beach! With 71% of us set to head to the coast this summer we thought this campaign is important to launch ahead of a bumper year for beach goers.

What are we asking people to do?

Pick up 5 bits of rubbish when you’re at the beach

Pack and plastic free picnic

Try to eat local and sustainable
