The Ocean Conservation Trust is a charity focussed on habitat restoration and behaviour change which owns and runs the National Marine Aquarium and brings you the opportunity to work in the prestigious Salesforce Tower London development at 110 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AY.
You will be working as part of a small but dedicated and friendly team that are responsible for delivering a consistently exceptional display in the foyer of one of the finest contemporary buildings in the City of London and is the largest private aquarium in the UK. The exhibit is based on the reefs around the Great Barrier Reef, Australia and contains animals found there.
We are looking for someone who is professional, punctual and well presented to provide the very best exhibit maintenance, animal nutrition and welfare, diving operations, record keeping and reporting. We are looking for a candidate who is competent in the following areas:
ESSENTIAL
· Professional level diving qualification i.e. HSE Part IV / Pro Scuba, PADI Divemaster or equivalent with the ability to pass a HSE commercial dive medical.
· Dive work either as aquarium diving or Divemaster work.
· Good communication IT Skills. Microsoft Office
· Physically fit to cope with diving, access to the aquarium and numerous stairs. Team player Able to work autonomously
DESIRABLE
· Degree in biological discipline or aquatic animal care course. First Aid at Work with Oxygen Administration Course HSE Dive Medical
· Maintaining aquariums of any size.
· Water Chemistry especially the nitrogen cycle familiarity with pipework, pumps and plumbing Aquatic animal husbandry
· Good attention to detail

The team work on a rota’d basis to provide 7 day cover. You will be required to work 4 days over 7 days and contracted for 24 hours per week. Some flexibility is required to cover for holidays. You will normally be required to work in London but there may be occasions when you need to travel to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth for short periods. The rate of pay is £14.51. The successful candidate will ideally be located within easy reach of the centre of London.
