The Ocean Conservation Trust is a global ocean conservation charity that exists to restore and protect the Ocean. Our work is centred around people and positive action through pro-ocean behaviour and habitat restoration. We’re committed to conserving the marine environment and inspiring others to do the same.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join our team, and we are looking for an experienced, creative, data driven marketeer who can hit the ground running.

The Marketing Officer will play a key role in developing the Ocean Conservation Trust as the leading Ocean conservation charity in the UK, by developing, planning, and delivering an exceptional marketing programme for the behaviour change and habitat restoration focus of the OCT.

Supporting our Head of Marketing and Communications and working alongside our Communications Officer, the Marketing Officer will drive the strategic objectives of the OCT by championing marketing campaigns to a regional and national audience, with a focus on our core programmes – Habitats, Advocacy and Experiences.

This role would therefore suit someone who has knowledge, experience and a passion for marine and coastal wildlife and habitats, as well as a general understanding of nature, conservation, and the environment.

You will have a degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Marine Science, or other appropriate discipline and experience in a similar role with a proven track record in the development and implementation of successful marketing campaigns. You will be able to articulate and demonstrate this experience at interview.

Experience in the support of Fundraising and/or PR would be beneficial but is by no means mandatory.

This is a permanent position for 37.5 hours per week. The salary will range from £26,000 – £29,000 per annum depending on experience. We will be unable to progress with applicants whose salary expectations exceed the top range advertised.

The role will be based at The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth and the successful applicant will be expected to work on-site for a 3-month probation period. Upon the successful completion of the probationary period, some flexible working will be considered, however, this is by no means guaranteed.
