Seagrass is one of the Ocean’s most important habitats, providing a nursery ground for many commercial fish stocks and acting as a haven for a variety of marine animals including rare seahorses, stalked jellyfish, and rare seaweeds.
We’re using our years of research and conservation on this vital Ocean habitat to carry out solutions based seagrass projects.
We’re proud to be one of the key partners in a large-scale habitat conservation project led by Natural England, which will see 5 Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) safeguarded for future generations.
Collaborative Seagrass Restoration
Seagrasses are declining by 7% a year globally. But, with the correct approach, the decline of underwater seagrass meadows can be reversed.
Seagrass Reforestation Project
At the Ocean Conservation Trust to provide relief to mooring pressures on sensitive habitats we have developed the Stirling Advanced Mooring Systems.
