Did you know that the International Day of Girls and Women in STEM falls on 11th February 2024? Here at Ocean Conservation Trust, based at the National Marine Aquarium, we will be celebrating by delivering our ‘Inspiring Women in STEM’ Virtual Tours throughout February!

Your pupils will gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of women working for the Ocean Conservation Trust. They’ll learn about the achievements of our Marine Biologists, Ocean Discovery Rangers, and Science Technicians. Students can ask questions about their career paths and glimpse life behind the scenes. Plus, they’ll get a close-up view of our amazing creatures at the Aquarium, all from the classroom!

Our 1.5 hour-long ‘Inspiring Women in STEM’ Virtual Tours are aimed at pupils from Upper KS2-KS4.

When are the Inspiring Women in STEM Virtual Tours taking place?

  • Tours are bookable at a time/date that suits your schedule. They can take place any time between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday during term-time.

What do I need to join the tour?

Participants will need to ensure they have access to a computer connected to a SMART board/TV, as well as adequate audio projection (speakers) within the classroom. The tours will be delivered in Zoom, so a Zoom account is recommended for the best experience (a free account is fine). A microphone and/or keyboard to ask and answer questions is recommended, but not essential.

How much does it cost?

It costs £120.00 per class of up to 32 pupils (including VAT). Any additional classes are welcome to join for £60.00 each. You will be invoiced after the tour has taken place.

How do I book?

To book, please email learning@oceanconservationtrust.org or call us on 01752 275233.
