We are thrilled to share that this year’s STEMFest, which took place from October 7th to October 18th, 2024, was a success! After building on the momentum from last year, this year’s event focused on the groundbreaking Darwin200 expedition, and we were thrilled to see so many young minds engaging with the world of science and conservation.

STEMFest took place at the National Marine Aquarium and provided a variety of activities to inspire and engage. A total of 18 schools and 916 students visited and explored real-world conservation techniques through ecological surveys, scientific drawing, and virtual reality. They took a deep dive into the Theory of Evolution, learning things even Darwin himself didn’t know! Each day concluded with an interactive show, leaving everyone excited to explore local habitats and take action to protect them.
STEMFest was designed for students in Key Stage 2 & 3, with a special day dedicated to home-educated learners on October 8th and 10th. Each day ran from 10am to 2pm and included an introduction, tour, workshop, and show.

Testimonials
“The exciting content; live views to help visualise what was being taught; good amount of interaction and fabulous workshop. My daughter learned so much from this session..”
“Really interesting, some great links to the curriculum and such a great activity with the species design/rolling the dice – students loved this!”
“It was incredible! All of it!! To pick one thing – the presenters – really fab, fun, knowledgeable, professional.”
“As teachers the whole of the accompanying staff really enjoyed the day. They had mentioned how they learnt something themselves which they did not know and wanted others to know it as well. The children were recalling facts the following day and using some of the knowledge applying it to their English learning.”
“I would want all harmful things to come out and never go into the ocean ever again.”
