Evolution – Create a Creature KS2 Science Workshop

This workshop offers a fun and interactive way to introduce and model the key principles of evolution. Your class will play two curriculum linked games in a series which allows them to create their own creatures through randomly selected adaptation features. They will then take that same creature through several ecosystems and challenging scenarios of an ever-changing world. Natural selection will mean that only the strongest will survive this evolution game!

What is in the workshop?

The Evolution Create a Creature workshop contains everything you need to complete 90 minutes of learning within the classroom, a 30-minute extension activity, plus two home learning activities. The workshop is split into four interactive videos, which guide your students through the key principles to evolution and natural selection.

Who is the workshop aimed at?

This workshop is suitable for all key stage 2 students.

Do I need any other resources?

You will need to be able to play the videos to the class in a way in which they can easily see and hear the content. Each student will require a pencil, access to a dice, and one printed worksheet, the template for which is found in the Teacher Manual provided when you purchase the workshop.

What format is the workshop in?

The workshop contains four mp4 videos, which will easily play through most media player software eg: Windows Media Player, Quicktime Player, VLC etc.

What happens after I pay?

Once you have purchased your workshop your confirmation email will contain a link allowing you to download all the required files from our online archive. This includes the Teacher Manual and the four videos.

How often can I use the workshop?

Once purchased, you can download the workshop to your school computer. You may then use the workshop as many times as you wish.

Who else can use my workshop?

Your workshop can be shared between teachers within your school. However, we ask that you do not share this resource outside of your own school or make the content publicly available. (See Terms & Conditions.)
