GETTING STARTED
Be creative! Decide how you would like to fundraise and select a date and a time for your event.
There are so many ways to make a big difference and raise money from swimming to stand up paddling to singing for our charity. Tell us about your planned event and we can offer advice and support if necessary.
To make fundraising easy, you can set up your fundraising page on Just Giving and choose us as the cause to fundraise for! Then spread the word by sharing your fundraising page with your friends and family.
FUNDRAISING IDEAS
- Sponsored swim – Whether it’s in a local swimming pool or a swim in the Ocean, why not take a sponsored dip?
- Online event – Gather your Ocean loving friends and family together for a virtual fundraising event.
- Ocean bake sale – Rustle up some tasty Ocean themed cakes and ask friends to donate if they’d like to eat them.
- Sponsored walk – Is there a mega coastline walk you’ve always wanted to try? Why not fundraise to walk it with your friends?

Easy Fundraising
You can donate to us by visiting your favourite retailers through the Easy Fundraising website to shop and once you’ve made a purchase the retailer will then make a small donation to your cause. The same principle can be offered through Amazon Smile.
PayPal
We are recognised as a charity on PayPal so whenever you pay through Pay Pal you can chose to support us as a charity.
Monthly Donations
If you want to set up a monthly donation, you can organise this directly through our website.
WHERE DOES YOUR MONEY GO?
Here at the Ocean Conservation Trust we carry out habitat restoration and help guide behaviour change.
Seagrass Restoration
We are currently cultivating and planting seagrass back into areas where it has previously been lost due to habitat destruction. Donations to our charity help to fund this process from growing seagrass plants in a lab to deploying them onto the seabed and everything in between.
Behaviour Change
We work with the public, Universities, NGOs and Government bodies to help people understand their impact on the Ocean and how they benefit from it. Using a mixture of scientific research and emotional connection, we are able to roll out educational opportunities and act as advisors for behaviour change policy within the UK.
