Conservation Optimism is a global community of organisations that are dedicated to inspiring people to make positive changes for nature. Their ethos is one shared by the Ocean Conservation Trust, changing the narrative from “doom and gloom” to one of realistic positivity to empower people to help make a difference to our planet. This network promotes effective action, interest and wonder in the natural world, across borders, languages and cultures.

Being optimistic doesn’t underestimate the current conservation challenges that we see across the world. Instead, it uses the power of hope as a tool to inspire meaningful action, using setbacks as a chance to learn and move forward.

The OCT helps to connect people to the Ocean, showing them the solutions and equipping them with the tools to make a real, effective change for our Ocean, and the everything that calls it home.

As Ocean optimists here at the OCT, we are very excited to join this network, and work collaboratively with organisations across the world that have optimism at their core.
